You can see March’s notes here.
A few of us met in the marketing channel for the monthly meeting. Check out the full Slack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. logs for the conversation.
A few highlights:
- The WP Reasons flyer is now on WordPress’ GitHub. @meeware is going to reach out to the Polyglots and Community teams to see how marketing can x-promote and encourage additional translations for it. There’s already German, French, and Brazilian Portuguese versions, and an alternate layout contributed by the community!
- White papers: We’d love to get some representation / input from WP Engine who volunteered several of their papers. @sptorabi if you’re reading, feel free to give an update! Human Made (via @meeware) is looking at contributing their REST-API An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways. paper.
- WCEU: potential project of work on the /features page redesign started last year. Sara notes that it’s likely we’ll have enough people to have several smaller groups so it will be good to have a list of projects to pull from, and pairing up with designers (UX UX is an acronym for User Experience - the way the user uses the UI. Think ‘what they are doing’ and less about how they do it. and graphic) will be very helpful.
Pinned this message to the Slack channel regarding marketing’s role, things we can attempt, etc.:
all suggestions and ideas are welcome, just remember this is a volunteer group and suggestions should be framed in terms of what resources will be needed (dev resources? other .org teams needed for collaboration / review / approval?) and especially how the person suggesting plans to accomplish that – do you have volunteers and donated time already lined up? etc.
Next two months’ meetings at 8pm UTC:
