Happening in Krak\u00f3w, Poland, on June 4-6th, with a HostingHosting<\/span> A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web.<\/span><\/span><\/span> table at Contributor DayContributor Day<\/span> Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/<\/a> There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https:\/\/2017.us.wordcamp.org\/contributor-day\/<\/a> https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/support\/handbook\/getting-started\/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span> on June 4th!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contributor Days<\/a> kick off each flagship WordCampWordCamp<\/span> WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they\u2019ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span> with a focus on community: dedicating a day for folks to come together to contribute to the WordPress Open SourceOpen Source<\/span> Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL.<\/span><\/span><\/span> Project. If you\u2019d like to attend in person you can register for Contributor Day here<\/a>. If you can\u2019t be there in person, you can still contribute remotely!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, @<\/span>chrisdavidmiles<\/a> will be leading the Contributor Day Hosting table, with @<\/span>amykamala<\/a> helping out remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year contributors show up for the Hosting team in a big way to move team initiatives forward. Thank you all for your contributions to the team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the WCEU \u201826 Hosting table, you\u2019re invited to work on team projects<\/a>, like the distributed testing software and hosting handbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the Hosting team do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hosting team collaborates with web hosts and WordPress CoreCore<\/span> Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Team builds WordPress.<\/span><\/span><\/span> to maintain infrastructure-focused documentation and facilitate testing of pre-release WordPress versions on hosting systems. This helps inform the development process and ensure that WordPress and hosting platforms are compatible, error-free, optimized, and that version updates roll out smoothly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
