[**WordCamp Asia 2025 Contributor Day**](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/2025/02/17/wordcamp-asia-2025-contributor-day/)
took place on **20th February 2025** at the **[Philippine International Convention Center (PICC)](https://www.picc.gov.ph/)
in Manila, Philippines**. It was a fantastic day of collaboration, learning, and
contributions to the WordPress ecosystem!

At the **HostingHosting A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service
that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the
World Wide Web. Table**, [@wesrapyd](https://profiles.wordpress.org/wesrapyd/) and
[@zunaid321](https://profiles.wordpress.org/zunaid321/) led the discussions and 
hands-on work alongside a dedicated group of contributors. Here’s what we focused
on:

 * **WordPress 6.8 Hosting Team Recommendation Document** – Reviewed and updated
   recommendations to help hosting providers prepare for the next WordPress release.
 * **Onboarding New Contributors** – Introduced newcomers to the Hosting Team, guiding
   them on how to contribute effectively.
 * **Hosting Test Results Page** – Explored ways to improve and add new features
   for better data insights.
 * **Test Runner Enhancements** – Worked on refining and expanding the Hosting Test
   Runner for more accurate testing.

### New Ideas & Discussions

 * **Presenting Hosting Test Results by Technology Stack**
   [@mtraian](https://profiles.wordpress.org/mtraian/)
   suggested an **alternative way to present test results**—not just by hosting 
   provider, but also by **technology stack**. This would be especially useful for
   companies or governmental organizations that **own their hosting infrastructure**
   and want to ensure their setup is fully **WordPress-compatible**. This idea was
   well received, and we discussed potential ways to implement it in future updates.
 * **Direct Hosting Provider & Customer Interactions**
   A unique moment at the Hosting
   Table occurred when a **customer of a hosting company** joined to report an issue
   regarding their site migrationMigration Moving the code, database and media files
   for a website site from one server to another. Most typically done when changing
   hosting companies.. Fortunately, a **representative from that hosting company**
   was also present, allowing the customer to communicate their concerns directly.
   The issue was well received, and the hosting rep committed to following up with
   the client for further resolution.This led to an exciting discussion about making
   the Hosting Table a **space for customers of different hosting companies** to
   report issues or provide feedback directly during Contributor DayContributor 
   Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps
   but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together
   to work on various areas of [https://make.wordpress.org/](https://make.wordpress.org/)
   There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus.

   and users, helping to improve WordPress hosting experiences.

As we move closer to the launch of WordPress 6.8, we’re getting ready to update 
our hosting recommendations for the new release. This is a critical task for the
Hosting Team to ensure that the community and hosting providers are fully prepared
for the upcoming version.

We’ve built on the work started last week and are updating the document, which is
currently 99% based on the WordPress 6.7 recommendations. If you’d like to lend 
a hand, we’d love your input on the document.

As we step into another exciting chapter with the HostingHosting A web hosting service
is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations 
to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Team, I’m here to share
some important updates and express our heartfelt gratitude to those who’ve made 
incredible contributions to our community.

Following the recent call for nominations, I’m thrilled to announce our Hosting 
Team Reps for 2025. This year, we have:

   Team RepTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team
   to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed,

Congratulations! We’re looking forward to their work as we continue building on

for his outstanding work and dedication as Hosting Team Rep in 2024. Javier’s contributions

All nominations are in, and all nominees are confirmed to take the next step and
be available for the role. Now it is up to the community (you) to vote on your team’s
representative.

World Wide Web. Team RepTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make 
WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed
as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts. position this time.

## Voting

As we want at least 2 team reps and we only got two that accepted the nominations,
we would suggest to have an anonymous survey where team members can leave their 
feedback on both and if the majority of votes is for both.
