Team Projects and Initiatives
This year, @Lucas (@crixu), @Zunaid Amin (@zunaid321) and @Wes Tatters (@wesrapyd) will be spearheading projects and discussions at the Contributor Day Hosting table.
The team will be working on:
- Round Table Discussion

Round Table Discussion
The day will open with a Round Table Discussion led by Wes Tatters. The topic up for discussion will be announced shortly.
WordPress Distributed Hosting Test Software Improvements
The Hosting Team maintains a PHPunit Test Runner and Reporter software that enables Web Hosts to test WordPress software updates on their platforms and report any conflicts, errors or issues that may need to be addressed. Many Hosts participate (thank you!) and Host Test Results are shared here.
Our team reps, Lucas and Zunaid, will be leading the charge on the Distributed Hosting Test Software project. The primary goal for this Contributor Day is to push through software improvements; review, test and merge pull requests already opened and to start or make progress on tickets and tooling improvements. The tickets available to work on can be found here:
Don’t code? Not to worry! There are opportunities available for everyone!
Handbook Updates
The Hosting Team maintains two handbooks: the WordPress Hosting Handbook and the Advanced Administration Handbook. Tickets to work on the handbooks are available here:
Hosting Directory Project
Last year, the Hosting Team made a Proposal to create a Hosting Directory to bring more structure and visibility to Web Hosts who operate and contribute within the WordPress ecosystem. While some next steps were discussed, the project has not yet been launched. At Contributor Day, led by Wes Tatters, contributors will strategize on a plan for executing the Hosting Directory Project and start on a formal proposal to be brought to the WordPress Open Source Project leadership for approval.
See You There!
Contributor Days are always a moment of inspiring interactions, building momentum on WordPress incentives and are a lot of fun! The Hosting Team is excited to welcome contributors both new and experienced to collaborate in a meaningful way while adding value to and making progress on Hosting Team projects!
