What’s the problem?
While the old description provides a good baseline for understanding team basics, it is extremely short and gives minimal insight into what the team actually does. The description could provide more insight and clarity on how the team contributes to the WordPress Open Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. Project, and how it benefits users and hosts on both a day-to-day and longer term basis.
The first description is not using “the WordPress Voice” in that the use of the term “we” detracts from the team as a non-personified representative of a democratized WordPress Hosting collective, while implying an “us” vs “you” environment rather than representing the team as an organizational entity that extends in purpose beyond its individual contributors.
