They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. This year [WCEU is being held in Basel, Switzerland on June 5 – 7, 2025](https://europe.wordcamp.org/2025/), and the WordPress HostingHosting A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Team is happy to have a table at Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. [Contributor Day](https://europe.wordcamp.org/2024/contributor-day/) is an all day event that happens alongside the WordCamp conference, where new and seasoned contributors come together to forward team incentives and to contribute to the WordPress Open SourceOpen Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. Project. At this year’s WCEU Contributor Day, the Hosting Team is working on some important projects and initiatives, and it’s so exciting to have so many amazing contributors collaborate to make this happen. Anyone is welcome to join, whether you’ve contributed before or this is your first time, whether you’re a software engineer or focus on other arenas: your contributions are wanted and appreciated! ## Schedule Here is the general [schedule for WCEU 2025 Contributor Day](https://europe.wordcamp.org/2025/schedule/) on June 5, 2025. If you’ve never contributed to WordPress, there will be an onboarding table to help you get set up, and keep an eye out for **mentors wearing a green dot sticker** to help with questions and guidance. ### **Join Remotely:** Can’t make it in person? No problem! To let us know you’ve joined remotely, drop a comment on this GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. The team will be working on: * Round Table Discussion * WordPress Distributed Hosting Test Software Improvements * Hosting Handbook and Advanced Administration Handbook Updates * Hosting Directory Project Strategy and Proposal ### Round Table Discussion The day will open with a Round Table Discussion led by Wes Tatters. The topic up for discussion will be announced shortly. ### WordPress Distributed Hosting Test Software Improvements The Hosting Team maintains a PHPunit [Test Runner](https://github.com/WordPress/phpunit-test-runner/) and [Reporter](https://github.com/WordPress/phpunit-test-reporter/) software that enables Web Hosts to test WordPress software updates on their platforms and report any conflicts, errors or issues that may need to be addressed. Many Hosts participate( thank you!) and [Host Test Results are shared here](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/test-results/). Our team reps, Lucas and Zunaid, will be leading the charge on the Distributed Hosting Test Software project. The primary goal for this Contributor Day is to push through software improvements; review, test and merge pull requests already opened and to start or make progress on tickets and tooling improvements. While some [next steps were discussed](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/2024/06/19/hosting-directory-next-steps/), the project has not yet been launched. At Contributor Day, led by Wes Tatters, contributors will strategize on a plan for executing the Hosting Directory Project and start on a formal proposal to be brought to the WordPress Open Source Project leadership for approval. ## See You There!
