The first thing that was checked was if this library is in PHP PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general-purpose scripting language especially suited to web development. PHP code is usually processed on a web server by a PHP interpreter. On a web server, the result of the interpreted and executed PHP code would form the whole or part of an HTTP response. 8.0 since in the documentation it does not appear as such, although @javiercasares analyzed at that time and it seems that it is available. On the other hand @mikeschroder found the source code in Github of the intl extension.
After several analyses, taking into account that half of the WordPress are used in a language that is not the native (English) and that many, therefore, the internationalization is something potential of WordPress, the Hosting team considers that the installation of the PHP-intl extension (Internationalization) should be recommended in the PHP Handbook.
