Video-based Meeting

The first video meeting happened, and 8 people attended! @brettface posted the notes here.

He requested folks pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” him if they’d like anything added to the agenda for next time.

CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. PHPPHP PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. team assistance

It was brought up in the last core chat that the core PHP team could use some help, and because the work they are doing is very connected to hosting, it’d be great if we could help out.

We briefly discussed this, and pointed to the tickets where help is needed. The Core PHP team meets weekly, with the next meeting on Monday, January 18, 2019 at 1600 UTC.
