[@brettface](https://profiles.wordpress.org/brettface/) is organizing this and [@francina](https://profiles.wordpress.org/francina/) later posted [this Zoom link for the meeting](https://zoom.us/j/422147135). ## Meeting Introduction [@jadonn](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jadonn/) posted [the formal proposal for the introduction text](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/2019/01/30/proposal-for-new-introduction-to-hosting-community-team-meetings/). Presuming no open conversation threads by then, this will go into affect next meeting. ## End-to-End (E2E) Testing Last week, [@j-falk](https://profiles.wordpress.org/j-falk/) raised the question if there was any interest in the group to work on porting the GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. [https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/](https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/) End-to- End testing to the [hosting distributed tests](https://make.wordpress.org/hosting/test-results/). [@gziolo](https://profiles.wordpress.org/gziolo/) [reached out in Slack](https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C3D6T7F8Q/p1548332353273800?thread_ts=1548268127.235600&cid=C3D6T7F8Q) and [provided some background](https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C3D6T7F8Q/p1548332505276100). [@mikeschroder](https://profiles.wordpress.org/mikeschroder/) has been working with [@aaroncampbell](https://profiles.wordpress.org/aaroncampbell/) on getting GoDaddy set up with the current tests, but when that’s done, it’ll provide a good starting point for experimenting with the E2E ones. ## PHPPHP PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general-purpose scripting language especially suited to web development. PHP code is usually processed on a web server by a PHP interpreter. On a web server, the result of the interpreted and executed PHP code would form the whole or part of an HTTP response. WSOD Revert We talked about the decision to revert the White Screen of Death protection from WordPress 5.1, and that the PHP widgetWidget A WordPress Widget is a small block that performs a specific function. You can add these widgets in sidebars also known as widget-ready areas on your web page. WordPress widgets were originally created to provide a simple and easy-to-use way of giving design and structure control of the WordPress theme to the user./warnings were still planned to ship. [@mikeschroder](https://profiles.wordpress.org/mikeschroder/) expressed that he’d prefer WSOD protection go in before the requirements in WordPress for PHP change, and brought it up for discussion in the coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Team builds WordPress. dev chat. There were two hostingHosting A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. related tickets that were created after previous chats, one to add the ability to show the [PHP upgrade notice for higher versions of PHP than recommended](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/46065) and another to [provide a way for hosts to directly link users to upgrade PHP](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/46074). The prior has been assigned to the 5.1.1 milestone, while the latter hasn’t been milestoned yet. [@mikeschroder](https://profiles.wordpress.org/mikeschroder/) mentioned he was working on a patch for [#46065](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/46065), but feel free to help out on either if you’re interested in the features! ## Feedback Miss this week’s meeting and want to know more about anything above?
