  • @andrewtaylor-1 merged the Security pull request and the Reliability pull request with the master branch of the documentation on GitHub.
  • @andrewtaylor-1 said he would work on merging the documentation on GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. into the hosting handbook on WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/.
  • This project still needs help with content for several topics:
    • Performance
    • Configuration

  • @mikeschroder said he will contact the #meta team about making some of the collected PHPPHP PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general-purpose scripting language especially suited to web development. PHP code is usually processed on a web server by a PHP interpreter. On a web server, the result of the interpreted and executed PHP code would form the whole or part of an HTTP response. requirements more discoverable.
    • WordPress.org does not have detailed PHP requirements at the moment.
    • @andrewtaylor-1 thought the PHP extensions would be particularly useful information to list.
  • @mikeschroder suggested having another collaboration day for filling out the remaining stubs and contributing to the documentation.
    • The team will be having another documentation collaboration day on Friday, May 18th, 1700 UTC
      • Anyone interested in helping out with the Hosting Best Practices Documentation is welcome to join the #hosting-community at the time the collaboration day is set to start.

GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/
