Steps
- Set up your test environment. From the most recent Beta or RC Release announcement, click the Playground link to launch a test environment.

Read the testing instructions. The announcement post explains which features and areas to focus on.

Test the release. Follow the guidance in the announcement, paying most attention to new functionality and coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. behavior.

Draft your findings. Include your environment (OS, browser, WordPress version, active plugins), steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual behavior, and screenshots if helpful.

Share your findings. Search WordPress Trac and the Alpha/Beta support forums to see if a report already exists. If you find a match, add to it. If not:
- Found a reproducible bug? File a ticket on WordPress Trac with your full documentation.
- Unsure if it’s a bug? Post in the Alpha/Beta support forums.
