Steps
- Browse the directory. Explore the WordPress Photo Directory to see what’s already there and get a feel for quality and themes.
-
Shoot your photos. Choose a theme: campus life, architecture, nature, or your local surroundings. Take at least 5 photos that follow the WordPress Photo Guidelines. You don’t need fancy equipment — a smartphone works fine.
-
Submit one photo at a time. Go to wordpress.org/photos/submit/. Add detailed alt text in English and carefully go through the checklist items before submitting. You can have up to 5 photos in the moderation queue at once.
-
Wait for the moderation email. When a photo is declined, you can revise based on the feedback and resubmit.
Contribution checklist
