# 󠀁[Upcoming Docs Conferences](https://make.wordpress.org/docs/2014/03/24/upcoming-docs-conferences/)󠁿

There are three documentation conferences coming up in the first half of 2014:

**1. March 31-April 1, 2014: [Write The Docs-EU](http://conf.writethedocs.org/eu/2014/index.html),
Budapest, Hungary**

This is the first year for Write The Docs-EU. I know it’s short notice, but it appears
that tickets are still available if you can make it there.

**2. May 5-6, 2014: [Write The Docs-NA](http://conf.writethedocs.org/na/2014/index.html),
Portland, Oregon**

This is the second year for the Write The Docs conference in Portland.

**3. June 14-18, 2014: [OpenHelp Conference](http://openhelpconference.com/), Cincinnati,
Ohio**
(conference: June 14-15; documentation sprints: June 16-18)

This is the fourth year for the OpenHelp conference.

OpenHelp 2013 was the venue for the first [WordPress Docs Team Summit](https://make.wordpress.org/docs/2013/06/19/docs-sprint-results-and-roadmap/).

WordPress is sponsoring both Write The Docs conferences this year, and was a sponsor
for the OpenHelp conference in 2013.

The conferences are great opportunities for anyone who writes documentation, whether
it’s for an open-source project, or providing user or technical documentation for
themes, plugins, hosted services, etc.

# 󠀁[OSCON 2014](https://make.wordpress.org/docs/2014/01/19/oscon-2014/)󠁿

Cross-posting to multiple teams, so apologies if you’ve seen this on another Make
site already.*

There are a few days left to submit proposals to OSCON. It would be great to see
the sessions there that are about WordPress actually being presented by people involved
in the project, so I’d like to encourage/urge/beg some of you to submit a proposal
based on your involvement in the project and/or the cool stuff that’s happened on
the team in the past year. The submission deadline is January 30, and the event
itself is in Portland, OR July 20-24, 2014. To apply to speak at OSCON, go to http://
www.oscon.com/oscon2014/public/cfp/308

*If you are active enough on Make that you’ve seen this post in a couple of places,
that suggests to me that you are super-involved in the WordPress project and probably
have some interesting stories/insights/experiences worth sharing at OSCON, so go
apply! 🙂

# 󠀁[Atlassian is holding a docs meetup in San…](https://make.wordpress.org/docs/2013/08/07/atlassian-are-holding-a-docs-meetup-in-san/)󠁿

Atlassian is holding a [docs meetup in San Francisco on 12th September](http://www.meetup.com/Write-the-Docs/events/qwfnmgyrmbqb/).
The focus of the meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially
a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through [https://www.meetup.com/](https://www.meetup.com/).
A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share
new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com
will help you find options in your area. is “Framing Documentation as a Teaching
Tool.” If you’re in the bay area I recommend you sign up. It’ll be a great opportunity
for learnings and for meeting other documentarians.
