HelpHub Updates

@fierevere noted that content has been imported for all locales who requested it.

About 20% of the Japanese version was translated and redirected from the old Japanese Codex.

This Google Sheet tracks the status of the migrationMigration Moving the code, database and media files for a website site from one server to another. Most typically done when changing hosting companies. of other locales.

GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ Docs work is organized in this Trello board, and @Jaime-Wedholm is working on notes for the Gutenberg Blocks documentation in this Google Doc.

DevHub Discussion

@leogermani has been working on the I18n Common APIs handbook page and will move on to deleting the common content from the Themes and Plugins handbooks and instead link to this new page.

@atachibana reported: Content: 264 of 1069 (24.7%) pages were redirected. Last week was 256 of 1068 (23.9%).

A previous conversation about the Common APIs handbook name (this discussion started as a P2 post from @atachibana) was revisited and concluded: For the moment, we’re not going to worry about the Common APIs handbook name. Later down the road, perhaps a better name will become suitable as more topics get added, the name can be revisited at that time. The Common APIs handbook will contain all APIs except the REST APIREST API The REST API is an acronym for the RESTful Application Program Interface (API) that uses HTTP requests to GET, PUT, POST and DELETE data. It is how the front end of an application (think “phone app” or “website”) can communicate with the data store (think “database” or “file system”) https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/., which has its own handbook.

@carike shared that the the Core Privacy team is planning a Consent APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways., which will be another topic to add to the Common APIs handbook.
