MigrationMigration Moving the code, database and media files for a website site from one server to another. Most typically done when changing hosting companies. Updates

@normalize gave a pre-meeting update that he has just one article left in his queue to finish.

@wizzard_ is currently working on the ‘Install FAQ’ article and is likely to finish within 2 weeks. He reports that at least one of the contributors from WCNL is still working on rewriting articles. He’ll follow up with the rest of the contributors.

@atachibana is still working on fixing articles.

Design Updates

@krogsgard was officially inducted into the team and will likely be able to look into the UXUX UX is an acronym for User Experience - the way the user uses the UI. Think ‘what they are doing’ and less about how they do it. aspects of Helphub over the next few weeks.

Development Updates

@carlalberto will be working on some development work before the next meeting

@wizzard_ raised the issue of whether articles that relate strongly to 3rd party systems such as cPanel should be kept. @kenshino answered that depending on the article in question, if a certain system is likely to be strongly related to WordPress or needs to be used to be able to work with WordPress, the article should be kept. For example, in the case of cPanel, it would not be a bad idea to keep the article to show users how to create databases and ftp accounts instead of the user using some 1 click install that may be flawed or does alterations to WordPress installs.

@lumberhack is looking through our handbook and deciding how he’d contribute to the team.
