Figma Access

You don’t need edit access to use the Figma libraries, you can copy components from there into your own drafts. If you’re a contributor with the ability to grant edit access, please be mindful, and downgrade to view access once the initial need for edit has waned.

- Suggestion to have GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ triage as our focus in design triage throughout March.

- @hedgefield will give an update on Site Health, with some designs to give feedback on.
- @joostdevalk has an update and some designs to get feedback on for the showcase.

The accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessibility) team have raised some concerns about the range slider pattern used in GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/. It would be super helpful to get some more brains thinking about a best-path-forward here so that this component is as accessible and usable as possible.

Also: UIUI UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think ‘how are they doing that’ and less about what they are doing. typefaces in Figma—I’m noticing lots of people (myself included) using SF UI for this, but the library uses Roboto. Probably helpful if we establish a standard now, so we’re all on the same page.
