Triage inbox

  • MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. Organizer badge – We began by jumping into our triage inbox, and discussed the proposal for a Meetup Organizer badge presented by the Community team.
  • AMP Stories in WordPress – The team organizing for WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. New York has been experimenting with a new story format for the meeting schedule using work created by Pratik Ghela. Feedback was requested, and it opened up a conversation about the software used. @postphotos followed up by sharing the work that is happening on the AMP for WordPress pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party to bring AMP Stories to WordPress as an open sourceOpen Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. solution (it’s still a work in progress).

Calls for design followup

  • Marketing team featured image – The marketing team would love support on creating a featured imageFeatured image A featured image is the main image used on your blog archive page and is pulled when the post or page is shared on social media. The image can be used to display in widget areas on your site or in a summary list of posts. that shows the visual differences between w.org and w.com. Anyone want to jump in and help?
  • Design for learn.wordpress.org on Design team@Andi and @juliekuehl have been working on this, and a brief discussion was shared on the status of it. They’d love if anyone can help out.
  • Audit content of handbook on Design team – This could use help from someone with a fresh set of eyes.
  • Core privacy badge – A new badge has been proposed for the privacy team with a Wapuu as part of it. It looks like we’re set now!
