# Design updates: week two

This is the second weekly call for updates for those contributing to design, as
outlined [here](https://make.wordpress.org/design/2017/06/20/design-meetings-new-format/).

The idea of these it to keep all designers connected. If you are contributing to
design please add your reply as a comment to this post by Thursday 23:00 UTC. All
comments will be combined into a [weekly update post](https://make.wordpress.org/updates/)
on Friday for the design team.

Not a designer but you have something you’d like us to work on? No problem, you
can also leave a comment. Just tell us what it is, if a specific team or skill also
tell us that.

Just reply to the following:

 * **What did you work on this past week? **Anything completed (don’t forget a link
to show us the amazing work!)?
 * **What are you currently focusing on?**
 * **Anything you need help with?** Got a tricky project? Are you looking for a
task? Perhaps you know about a task that needs a designer or need a buddy to
work on something (lets support each other)?
 * **Any links for inspiration you want to share** (doesn’t have to be WordPress
   design links)?

Everyone is welcome to comment, adding names of all that commented last week and
were at summit – your name will be added to list as you give an update (so we can
include everyone).

Inserter – We’ve continued to have a discussion on the future of the inserter.
I had a great time playing with some different sketches and wireframes based
on the conversation. Still a few things that need to be figured out on the
        ticket ([#1325](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/1325))
      * WordPress MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a
part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through [https://www.meetup.com/](https://www.meetup.com/).
A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and
share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on
meetup.com will help you find options in your area. Talk – Gave my first talk
        at a [WordPress Meetup](https://www.meetup.com/Coeur-dAlene-WordPress-Meetup/events/240286176/).
It was a lot of fun and I’m working to refine the talk for future meetups.
Welcome to checkout the slide deck at the link. The topic was a hybrid between
my recent experience contributing to WordPress as a designer and encouraging
non designers to add sketches and wireframes to better explain development
        features.

 35. * Visual prototyping tools – I’m trying to figure out the best tools for creating
clickable prototypes. Many tools offer clicking between pages, but I’m trying
to find ones that help with button states and transitions. For instance, something
that would help me prototype [this](https://paper.fiftythree.com/23034828-Joshua-Wold/27533926/standalone)

After a few days reviewing the iPad Pro 10.5 I decided to return it. I needed
a bigger screen for the sketching and wireframes I like to create. I’ve found
this to be my favorite tool for low fidelity sketching.

Some of what you want may have been decided on already and this way you can
