With a location and date officially announced for WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. US (Philadelphia, December 4th–6th), it’s time to start thinking about design for the event.

When will I hear back?
We’d like to get started relatively quickly. Please give us a week or so to sort through proposals after the the 10th. Note: I will reply to everyone who submits a proposal (whether you’re selected or not).

Will I be compensated for my work?
Unlike most other conferences that charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars to attend, WordCamps tries very hard to keep attendance fees at a bare minimum. We do this by relying heavily on our amazing volunteers. That said, while you won’t receive financial compensation, this is a high profile event, and your work will be seen by everyone in attendance.

It might be helpful to check out the WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ design handbook, specifically the sections on identity, colors, and typography.

Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM).
