Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process.<\/span><\/span><\/span> 3 is due for release tomorrow (Wednesday, July 22). The release party starts at 15:00 UTC.<br>Note: beta 2 was released on Friday with the above security fixes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have a heads up from <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.wordpress.org\/adrianduffell\/\" class=\"mention\"><span class=\"mentions-prefix\">@<\/span>adrianduffell<\/a>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There\u2019s about <a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/query?milestone=7.1&amp;status=accepted&amp;status=assigned&amp;status=new&amp;status=reopened&amp;status=reviewing&amp;order=priority&amp;col=id&amp;col=summary&amp;col=owner&amp;col=status&amp;col=milestone&amp;col=type&amp;col=priority\">140 Trac tickets milestoned for 7.1<\/a>. Noting that the API is <a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/ticket\/51006\">already committed<\/a>\u00a0and has <code>needs-dev-note<\/code> workflow keyword ; this ticket is for the metaboxes. Jon hopes to get those changes landed for the parser soon so its in a better state. More recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.wordpress.org\/zieladam\/\" class=\"mention\"><span class=\"mentions-prefix\">@<\/span>zieladam<\/a> and him have been looking at interactive, runnable code examples in the documentation for Core. The Playground docs have this already, see <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.wordpress.org\/playground\/handbook\/guides\/php-code-snippets\/\">this example<\/a>. Those snippets are powered by Playground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right now, code snippets are typically done by using extra indentation in the <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>phpdoc<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>PHPDoc<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>(<strong>docblock<\/strong>, <strong>inline docs<\/strong>)<\/span><\/span><\/span>.
