Note: except in extreme situations, only bug fixes will be considered and generally
only bugs that have been introduced during the 6.6 cycle.

## Get involved with 6.6.2

Bug Scrubs will happen in the [#core room](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/) during
the following times:

 * [August 22, 2024 at 16:00 UTC](https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20240822T1600)
 * [August 28, 2024 at 15:00 UTC](https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20240828T1500)
 * [September 3, 2024 at 15:00 UTC](https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20240903T1500)

Each of the open tickets is going to require development work along with testing
and review. You can also run your own scrubs to help ensure that all of the correct
tickets are fixed in this release. Additionally, while the intent is for no new
translated strings in this release, [some locales have strings in 6.6 in need of translation](https://translate.wordpress.org/stats/).

General coordination for the release will happen in the [#6-6-release-leads channel](https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C06U06K50Q5)
and decisions around code for the release will be made in the [#core](https://make.wordpress.org/core/tag/core/)
room.

 3. Please, consider fixing this issue and adding the patchpatch A special text file

     removed, and altered. It may also be referred to as a **diff**. A patch can be

     It’s a regressionregression A software bug that breaks or degrades something that
     previously worked. Regressions are often treated as critical bugs or [blockers](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2024/08/19/wordpress-6-6-2/?output_format=md#blocker).
     Recent regressions may be given higher priorities. A "3.6 regression" would be
     a bug in 3.6 that worked as intended in 3.5. introduced in 6.6. Thanks in advance

      * Hello [@leemon](https://profiles.wordpress.org/leemon/),
      * Thank you for flagging that issue. It is being tracked in the [6.6.x Editor Tasks board](https://github.com/orgs/WordPress/projects/213/views/1)
        and in the [CSS Specificity tracking issue](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/64243).
      * What’s its status?
         Currently, it’s being investigated to figure out how best
        to solve it. [@talldanwp](https://profiles.wordpress.org/talldanwp/) [proposed multiple ways, but also noted](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/63925#issuecomment-2288208251)

      * Could it ship in 6.6.2?
         Maybe. Depends upon (a) the chosen resolution, (b)
        if merged and ready before 6.6.2 RC1, and (c) if there’s consensus the resolution
        fits within a minor.
      * I invite you to contribute to it.
