Working on dev notesdev note Each important change in WordPress Core is documented in a developers note, (usually called dev note). Good dev notes generally include a description of the change, the decision that led to this change, and a description of how developers are supposed to work with that change. Dev notes are published on Make/Core blog during the beta phase of WordPress release cycle. Publishing dev notes is particularly important when plugin/theme authors and WordPress developers need to be aware of those changes.In general, all dev notes are compiled into a Field Guide at the beginning of the release candidate phase. for terms query changes for 6.0.

• @flixos90: Vote ongoing in Define plugin versioning approach #300; please vote before Monday, May 2, 2022 at 5pm UTC. Right now the vote is leaning toward following the WordPress coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. versioning strategy (1.1.0, 1.2.0, etc. up to 1.9.0).
• @flixos90: Opened Define owners for each module #310 last week for more formally define module ownership, including a PR for proposed ownerships. If you have been contributing a lot to one or more specific modules and/or advance it closer towards a core merge, it’d be awesome to include you as a module owner. Leave a comment or update directly to add yourself.
• @flixos90: @mitogh has been working on a PR for Fix command line utilities to sort modules correctly #306 so that some of our tooling considers modules in the correct order

  • @flixos90: Agreed that we should do that, but let’s get the foundation in PR #282 merged first
• @flixos90: @pbearne has a draft for a WordPress 6.0 dev note on the new wp_content_img_tag filter (see https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/55347) ready for review, so please review if interested. This filterFilter Filters are one of the two types of Hooks https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks. They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables and output. is crucial for modifying in-content images and impacts both performance and user experience.
