Found a bugbug A bug is an error or unexpected result. Performance improvements, code optimization, and are considered enhancements, not defects. After feature freeze, only bugs are dealt with, with regressions (adverse changes from the previous version) being the highest priority.? Create a ticket in the bug tracker.

Want to contribute? Get started quickly with tickets marked as good first bugs for new contributors or join a bug scrub. There’s more on the reports page, like patches needing testing, and on feature projects page.

Small change proposal regarding the quota calculation caching in Multisites. The ticketticket Created for both bug reports and feature development on the bug tracker. is around for some years now with no obvious reason why it is stale and wasn’t pursued further.
Implementing it would be a massive performance improvement for sites with huge media libraries and/or slow file systems like NFS using the WordPress Quota system.

Actions are functions performed when a certain event occurs in WordPress. Filters allow you to modify certain functions. Arguments used to hook both filters and actions look the same. (`save_post`, `edit_post`, etc) fired at the end of `wp_insert_post()`. I’d like to spit these hooks in to a seperate function to ensure they fire after updating data for REST API updates per the patchpatch A special text file that describes changes to code, by identifying the files and lines which are added, removed, and altered. It may also be referred to as a diff. A patch can be applied to a codebase for testing. on the ticket.

@timothyblynjacobs has provided some valuable cons, I’d like to hear some wider pros and cons from other CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. developers. It’s a fairly long ticket so reviewing recent comments will help provide some context. Comment 27 onwards is a good place to start.

I know WP5.6 is neither a component nor a focus, but I’d like to add a look at our progress and what we can/maybe can’t ship in the release, assuming we get no additional raised hands for contributions.

I’ve shared my notes with the release squad already, so any member in the APAC region can bring it up in the first chat. I’ll be there for the second chat. 🙂
