Found a bugbug A bug is an error or unexpected result. Performance improvements, code optimization, and are considered enhancements, not defects. After feature freeze, only bugs are dealt with, with regressions (adverse changes from the previous version) being the highest priority.? Create a ticket in the bug tracker.

Want to contribute? Get started quickly with tickets marked as good first bugs for new contributors or join a bug scrub. There’s more on the reports page, like patches needing testing, and on feature projects page.

Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ repository, I requested a new label called “UserDocumentation”. Thank you to @youknowriad for making it happen and I joined the Gutenberg triagetriage The act of evaluating and sorting bug reports, in order to decide priority, severity, and other factors. team. The label “UserDocumentation” is for the team members on the 🐝 docs team to label those PRs implementing changes that are End User facing. Eventually, they will need the attention of the contributor who updates End User documentation pages.
No action is needed from the developer of the PR.

On the 🐝 docs team we working with the MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. team to have an RSS feedRSS Feed RSS is an acronym for Real Simple Syndication which is a type of web feed which allows users to access updates to online content in a standardized, computer-readable format. This is the feed. of those labeled PRs into our SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. team channel at #meta-helphub, so our team can review it, discuss it and add it into our update queue for the next major WordPress version.

@isabel_brison brought to my attention that the label doesn’t have a description yet, and I was wondering if this would be a good description: “For end user documentation team” to indicates that there is no further action from the GB team needed.

The biggest updates for the new editors (navigation and widgets), in the past week are:
- for the navigation editor, themes can try the new opt-in mechanism for displaying blocks in menus
- for the widgets editor the recent merge of the refactoring for the data layer to use the current option API system to store blocks and widgets is a great step to ensure BC, but it introduced new issues, so testing is needed. Also themes and plugins now can test registering their own block alternative to widgets.

Within the Global Styles area, my two focuses for the month are:
- Land an initial user-facing tool to set styles globally. In the past weeks, I’ve been extracting small PRs out of this big one to merge incrementally and will continue to do so.

The idea is to enable themes to control the editor via theme.jsonJSON JSON, or JavaScript Object Notation, is a minimal, readable format for structuring data. It is used primarily to transmit data between a server and web application, as an alternative to XML..
For people interested in this area of work, the tracking issue lists specific tasks to help with.
