 * GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress.
The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making
writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than
   shortcodes, custom HTML etc. [https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/](https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/)

 7. My reusable blockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup
that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress
editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with
shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and
user experience. inserter tab PR got merged in time for WP 5.5! Really glad to
     see this get in.

 9. I’ve opened an issue proposing an update to how the parent-selector button is
displayed, making it accessible to touchscreen users and more visible to all users,
while also solving a UIUI User interface regressionregression A software bug that
breaks or degrades something that previously worked. Regressions are often treated
     as critical bugs or [blockers](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2020/07/06/editor-chat-agenda-8th-july-2020/?output_format=md#blocker).
Recent regressions may be given higher priorities. A "3.6 regression" would be
a bug in 3.6 that worked as intended in 3.5..

 11. The Heading block level checker PR is even more polished than last week, and all
it needs now is an approving review before I can merge.

 13. I have two class-to-function component refactor PRs waiting for reviews:

 15. This week I also created these two simple code quality PRs that need reviews:

 17. My PR to polish the Custom HTMLHTML HyperText Markup Language. The semantic scripting
language primarily used for outputting content in web browsers. block still needs
design feedback and a code review.
 18. [https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/21711](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/21711)
 19. My PR to lighten the editor DOM of the Buttons block is still blocked by an issue
with AlignmentHookSettingsProvider. Solving it is beyond my expertise level, so
I need technical help to figure out how to proceed. My plans to fix the current
confusing/half-broken state of the Buttons alignment controls rely on this PR.

 21. And for the open floor:
 22. I’d appreciate feedback/discussion on a potential new headings/document outline
APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary
that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly
defined ways., which is currently the big blockerblocker A bug which is so severe
that it blocks a release. preventing my Table of Contents block from being completed.
