Found a bugbug A bug is an error or unexpected result. Performance improvements, code optimization, and are considered enhancements, not defects. After feature freeze, only bugs are dealt with, with regressions (adverse changes from the previous version) being the highest priority.? Create a ticket in the bug tracker.

    Daniel, you’ve been the only no-show so far! I pinged you on SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. that I was waiting. My guess is because you didn’t put a real email address, that was the mix-up. Calendly creates a shared event and emails you all the confirmation, we’ve done them all on Google Hangouts. If you reply on Slack I’m happy to find time as a one-off since the scheduling didn’t work for you.

I don’t have anything specifically to ask, but just wanted to leave a note of support, Matt. I think this move to GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ is necessary to advance the power of WordPress as a CMS and both lead and compete in the future of content publishing. I know there are tons of folks out there who are either supporters or concerned citizens and I know that this is going to affect all the 3rd party solutions providers in some way, but it’s either adapt or die a slow, painful death. This is product development in a nutshell. WordPress has to move forward and while its painful (and costly) for many to have to change and adapt, it’s far better to adapt or not have a business at all. I just read an article yesterday about how Microsoft has adapted to a changing world and now it’s valuation is back up and close to that of Apple’s valuation. It was painful for a lot of people, but Microsoft is now thriving again in the new tech environment. And, let’s remember, Apple almost died once a long time ago until the iPod and iPhone saved the company from oblivion. One of the theme development companies I support has chosen a wait and see attitude towards Gutenberg, which may force me to switch to larger frameworks who have taken the leap for my clients, but that’s a risk they’re going to have to take and they may find themselves impacted by indecision. As one human, I’m sure you are inundated with an extraordinary amount of pressure from all sides. I can’t imagine being in your shoes and fighting this huge battle to take the troops in a direction that is fraught with risk. It’s probably a pretty lonely place to be, but hopefully when it’s over, the peace will be won and everyone can go back to investing in building and the complaining will die down. Hope you’re getting some sleep and exercising to keep the stress level down. Have a happy holiday (if you can). You’re doing what needs to be done and I support that 1,000 percent.

All done with the calls! Met some great folks, spoke to about 22 people, and had 4 no-shows. (There were some extra added in that’s why it adds up to more than 24.)

Some of the general themes covered were:
- Timing of release.
- Rosetta sites.
- Data structures of GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. - The parser and formal grammar for Gutenberg.
- User and developer documentation.
- AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). - Reusable blocks and templates.
- Helping people upgrade and learn new systems.
- GDPR and embeds.
- Training and workshops.
There were also a number of people who wanted to express report, share stories of blocks being built, client sites launching soon using Gutenberg, and a lot of discussion about what Phase 2 entails. I definitely learned a lot through the entire process and will repeat this in the future, it has also helped me reprioritize some of the things in next week’s State of the WordState of the Word This is the annual report given by Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress at WordCamp US. It looks at what we’ve done, what we’re doing, and the future of WordPress. https://wordpress.tv/tag/state-of-the-word/. to try and address some of the common issues and themes that arose.
