Found a bugbug A bug is an error or unexpected result. Performance improvements, code optimization, and are considered enhancements, not defects. After feature freeze, only bugs are dealt with, with regressions (adverse changes from the previous version) being the highest priority.? Create a ticket in the bug tracker.
Want to contribute? Get started quickly with tickets marked as good first bugs for new contributors or join a bug scrub. There’s more on the reports page, like patches needing testing, and on feature projects page.

Not sure where to post this…. so I’ll just ask here.
Does anyone know if there is development on improving the media library to include a deeper directory structure with folders/etc?

  Do you mean folders for the media files, or a way to group media entries? The only thing I would be interested in is taxonomies on media (“attachment” post type). This is possible by pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party, but only partly supported by coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress., as far as I know. Organizing in folders is the most primitive way of grouping objects. Taxonomies are more flexible, as an object can belong to more than one term, and terms themselves can be either hierarchical or flat.
