Found a bugbug A bug is an error or unexpected result. Performance improvements, code optimization, and are considered enhancements, not defects. After feature freeze, only bugs are dealt with, with regressions (adverse changes from the previous version) being the highest priority.? Create a ticket in the bug tracker.

More postboxes:

The Comments on this Post postbox lists all comments when editing posts. That could be quite a lot sometimes. Perhaps we can have a button there “Show the comments on this Post” or similar that would pull them with AJAX, 15-20 at a time.
The Post Slug postbox doubles the functionality of the Permalink that pops-up under the title. Don’t think we need both, we can either add the whole permalink to the postbox, or remove it completely.
The Custom Fields and Categories postboxes need to be using floated DIVs or similar, so they scale well when in the right sidebarSidebar A sidebar in WordPress is referred to a widget-ready area used by WordPress themes to display information that is not a part of the main content. It is not always a vertical column on the side. It can be a horizontal rectangle below or above the content area, footer, header, or any where in the theme.. Perhaps we should hide the comments listing from Comments on this Post when it’s on the right, don’t think they can fit there.

Comments: It’s fine to show a handful by default and require a click to show the remaining ones.

Post slug: I think we decided to keep the under-title permalink rather than the post slug box. Ryan, can you confirm?

We show the plain Slug box when JSJS JavaScript, a web scripting language typically executed in the browser. Often used for advanced user interfaces and behaviors. is disabled since the fancy permalink thingy requires JS. We need to keep it in the form, but we can remove it from the “Show on screen” list.

I don’t foresee ever using Comments on this Post. I rarely go back to edit a post and don’t want to moderate comments on those occasions when I do.

The adminadmin (and super admin) is getting AJAX-ified more and more, was thinking how to handle all the “niceties” when js is disabled. Perhaps we could use more <noscript> tags and add links with target=”_blank”.

For example: at the moment all postboxes are generated/loaded whether enabled or not. We could exclude the disabled and load them with AJAX if enabled. For this to work with no js, all Advanced Options buttons could be links to otherwise hidden options page showing all AJAX-ified settings without using js.

On the other hand not sure how far we should go in supporting -everything- when js is disabled. FF + No script should be enough 🙂
