Each one requires careful research across many public sources, and each one takes time that could go toward supporting our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help with that, we\u2019ve built Community Agents: a lightweight, community-owned platform of AI assistants that handle the legwork of these reviews while leaving every decision in human hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each agent lives in a single <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>Slack<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Slack<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/\">https:\/\/slack.com\/<\/a>. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/chat\/\">https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/chat\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span> channel and is triggered with a simple slash command (for example, <code>\/tm-audit<\/code>). It runs its research, visits the relevant public pages, and reports back its findings, clearly labeling what it has <strong>confirmed<\/strong>, what is <strong>unconfirmed<\/strong>, and what it <strong>couldn\u2019t verify<\/strong>. A reviewer then confirms or corrects each step before anything is finalized. The agents are built on Python, Slack Bolt, and the Claude <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>API<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>API<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways.<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two principles guide the whole platform:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Human-in-the-<span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>loop<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Loop<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>The Loop is PHP code used by WordPress to display posts. Using The Loop, WordPress processes each post to be displayed on the current page, and formats it according to how it matches specified criteria within The Loop tags. Any HTML or PHP code in the Loop will be processed on each post. <a href=\"https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/The_Loop\">https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/The_Loop<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/strong> The agents gather and summarize; people decide. Nothing is auto-approved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Privacy-conscious.<\/strong> The agents work only from what\u2019s publicly available (names, <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>WordPress.org<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>WordPress.org<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization.  <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span> profiles, public links) and deliberately don\u2019t ask for personal data such as email or home addresses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The agents so far<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><code>\/wc-vet<\/code>: vets <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>WordCamp<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>WordCamp<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they\u2019ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. <a href=\"https:\/\/central.wordcamp.org\/about\/\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span> organizer applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>\/wpcc-vet<\/code>: vets WordPress Campus Connect organizer applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>\/sc-vet<\/code>: vets WordPress Student Club organizer applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>\/meetup-vet<\/code>: vets WordPress <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>Meetup<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Meetup<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). It is the standard license WordPress uses for Open Source licensing <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/about\/license\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/about\/license\/<\/a>. The GPL is a \u2018copyleft\u2019 license <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gnu.org\/licenses\/copyleft.en.html\">https:\/\/www.gnu.org\/licenses\/copyleft.en.html<\/a>. This means that derivative work can only be distributed under the same license terms.
