The above quote says it all. Slow uploads which means little to mod this week.

The Mod chat was brief. But something new was discussed, now all the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. videos published on WPTV will be tweeted to the @wordcamp twitter account. Follow and keep up to date.

The chat did turn to discussing subtitling. During the slow mod times, subtitling videos is a nice alternative. And it was noted that sometimes full transcripts of WordCamp presentations can be found on slideshare and speakerdeck.

The Pending queue was clear this week.
No new WordCamp submissions. Although yesterday WordCamp Saratoga started uploading videos to the AWS account. Here’s a summary of WordCamp video submissions.

It was a short but productive chat where we talked about getting more WordCamps to submit videos to WPTV and some improvements to WPTV.

Due to the US holiday this week, uploads to WPTV and modding have been slow. We do have videos uploaded from WC São Paulo and we are starting to get videos from WC Charleston. We are also getting videos from WC Grand Rapids and WC Salt Lake City.

Of the 39 WordCamps held worldwide since July there are 23 with no video submissions.

In the last five months there have been 39 WordCamps held around the world. Of the 39 WordCamps, 25 were held in cities were video cameras are available for recording the presentations. Of those 25 WordCamps 10 have submitted videos and 15 have zero video submissions. Also mods don’t forget the Description for the videos. It is titled Description on the submitted information and it goes in the ExcerptExcerpt An excerpt is the description of the blog post or page that will by default show on the blog archive page, in search results (SERPs), and on social media. With an SEO plugin, the excerpt may also be in that plugin’s metabox. box just under the editor. Descriptions can often be found on the WordCamp site but if no description is available then please feel free to write one in your own words.

San Francisco is this weekend and the community summit will follow next week. WPTV will have a discussion group covering a variety of topics including documentation for AV equipment use, process for new moderator orientation, post-production workflow, captioning for videos and making WPTV a useful community resource.

WPTV Moderator meeting next Wednesday!

There will be a IRC chat on Wednesday the 29th (exact time TBD) during the community summit for those who want to talk about and give input about what was discussed.  A post will follow detailing the exact time.
