Announcement: Review of WordCamp sites without a tracker item – removal of some old WordCamp sites
Some WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. sites missing their counterpart in the WordCamp tracker. We are now going through this list and will remove WordCamps sites for events that didn’t take place. For WordCamps that did take place, the WordCamp tracker in Central will be backfilled with simple details.

With all the changes to the program this past year, it seems timely to check in with our mentors to see if they are still interested in mentoring WordCamps and where we can better support them.

Revisiting Learn WordPress Workshop Application Vetting Process
Some community members have been helping with the Learn WordPress workshop and discussion group facilitator application vetting process. Naoko proposes few changes to the process for making it smoother.

Request for feedback: Team goals check
As we enter Q2 of 2021, it seems appropriate to check where we are with the action items set for Q1 and Q2 in our Team goals. If you are working with some action item or do know the progress of one, please leave an update in the comments of the post.

Timeline for the Global Sponsorship Program
We published the official Global Sponsorship program on March 23rd and it included a deadline for Q2 sponsorships just 3 days later (March 26th). Taco raised a point that they think this isn’t reasonable and we might have lost some sponsorships because of that.

2021 Financial Update for the WordPress Community
Harmony provided an update on our financial health after we gracefully weathered the storm that was 2020. In summary, WPCSWPCS The collection of PHP_CodeSniffer rules (sniffs) used to format and validate PHP code developed for WordPress according to the WordPress Coding Standards. May also be an acronym referring to the Accessibility, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc. coding standards as published in the WordPress Coding Standards Handbook. began the 2021 year with just over US$1.3M on hand from which approximately US$465K is owed to the Global Sponsors for their future sponsorships. WPCS also has approximately US$305K in prepaid expenses to various vendors. Cautious spending of WPCS money will still be necessary for the foreseeable future.

DST is here soon again and some parts of the world are moving their clocks. In previous years, we have moved the meeting times accordingly one hour forward after EU/UK has started the DST on 2021-03-29. What we should do this year, move the meeting times like we have done in the past or stick with the same UTC times regardless of DST?

As our events program will look again this year very different than we normally would have, there’s also need to redefine how our Global Community Sponsorship program will look as we can’t promise the usual benefits. A team of experienced global Community Sponsorship program contributors set up a proposal, and they propose offering one package only with completely new benefits, available on a quarterly basis. The comments deadline has already passed, but we surely can have discussion around this topic although.
