Community Team Reps for 2021

Now that voting for this year’s Community team reps has concluded, I’m pleased to announce that the new Community team reps for 2021 are Kevin Cristiano (@kcristiano) and Timi Wahalahti (@sippis)!

Since finding WordPress in 2006, Kevin Cristiano has been an avid user of the software and passionate contributor to the open sourceOpen Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. project. While he first leveraged WordPress software to empower his clients in non-profits to take control of their own content and be able to easily manage their own sites, he soon found a welcome home within the WordPress community. Over the last 15 years Kevin has continued to work with and to support nonprofits while gaining deeper involvement in WordPress. He brings with him experience on the global community teamGlobal Community Team A group of community organizers and contributors who collaborate on local events about WordPress — monthly WordPress meetups and/or annual conferences called WordCamps. as a “super deputyProgram Manager Program Managers (formerly Super Deputies) are Program Supporters who can perform extra tasks on WordCamp.org like creating new sites and publishing WordCamps to the schedule.” and specializes in sponsors, finance, trademarks, and the GPL.In addition to his work there Kevin is also a long time WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Timi Wahalahti

Timi is a WordPress enthusiast from Finland, with a helpful attitude and great interest in how things work. Their first touch into the WordPress community happened in 2015 at first WordCamp in Finland, and next year they found themselves volunteering. After becoming community deputyProgram Supporter Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. Find more about program supporters in our Program Supporter Handbook. in 2018, they have been an active developer of working methods, improved tools and collaboration methods. As a team repTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts., they want to help individuals support local communities even better. Timi hopes to inspire other team members on collaboration, transparency and making work of the community team more visible to a larger audience.
