Event Highlights
WordPress Campus Connect Jaipur kicked off its first event on August 23rd at Anand ICE with 67 students in attendance. On August 25th, organizers held an event at SSG Pareek PG College for 81 students, and on August 30th, they held an event at Alankar Girls PG College with 132 students in attendance.
WordPress Campus Connect Ajmer held its first event on August 30th at Aryan College, bringing together 85 students! Session topics ranged from beginner-level site building to advanced eCommerce website builds using WooCommerce. The dual-track structure allowed both first-time learners and returning students with prior experience to engage at the right level and leave with tangible outcomes.

WordPress Campus Connect Ribera del Duero students Andrés Parra and Javier Montes de Blas, and organizer Raul Anton Cuadrado, flew in from Spain to speak about their experience in the WCUSWCUSWordCamp US. The US flagship WordCamp event. session.
WordPress Campus Connect Cartago and San Jose organizers Mauricio Barrantes and Elineth Morera Campos, respectively, also joined the session to share their experiences. On stage, Elineth shared the exciting news that Fidélitas University will begin offering its students a WordPress Credits program starting in October 2025!
WordPress Campus Connect San José launched their social media channels for WordPress Campus Connect San José 2025:
Contributors Md Sabbir Hossain and Ahmed Kabir Chaion hosted a seminar on WordPress Basics named “Discover WordPress.” They explored key topics such as Themes, Plugins, and Page Builders. (See their highlight reel on Youtube)
50 students attended their seminar at the State University of Bangladesh.
40 students attended their session at the International Standard University.
35 students attended their session at the Govt. Mohammadpur Model School.

📚 WordPress LATAM Organizer Course Ends, New Leaders Rise ✨
@sion99 shared that the course was a great success, offering valuable knowledge from the WordPress handbook in Spanish and helping build a stronger, more coordinated community across Latin America. A major highlight is that over four participants are now planning to organize or reactivate WordPress meetupsMeetupMeetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). 🌸 Quiet Work, Big Impact: Chiba WordPress Meetup Grows Stronger
@atsuo0475watanabe shared that the Chiba WordPress Meetup in Japan hosts monthly hybrid mokumoku-kai sessions—quiet co-working meetups where attendees focus on WordPress-related tasks, such as writing, translating, or contributing to the photo directory, with opportunities for discussion and Q&A. These events help organizers better understand the needs of beginners and reconnect with foundational knowledge.
These kinds of events demonstrate that it’s possible to organize hybrid events to facilitate attendance.

The Incident Response Team is looking for new members The Incident Response Team (IRT) is seeking new contributors! If you have experience in community moderation, conflict resolution, or DEIB practices, consider applying. Applications are open until July 6, 2025.
A Little (Late) Spring Cleaning A major audit reviewed outdated GitHubGitHubGitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/ repos, plugins, and Slack channels – 20 GitHub repos, 11 outdated plugins, and 30 Slack channels archived to reduce clutter and improve focus.
🎟️ Proposal: Prioritizing CampTix Improvements for a Better Organizer and Attendee Experience A new proposal suggests prioritizing enhancements to CampTix to improve the experience for both organizers and attendees. Ideas include better ticket management, smoother refund handling, and improved data exports. Over 50 contributors stopped by our tables throughout the day, sharing ideas, asking questions, and pushing forward the global WordPress community.
As outlined in our Contributor Day agenda, we focused on welcoming new organizers, unblocking ongoing projects, and brainstorming future events. To make the most of everyone’s interests and experience, we split into two main tables:

Discussions ranged from how to restart inactive groups to how to bring in fresh faces and create a welcoming environment for first-time attendees.
Juan Hernando (@unintended8) coordinated the table focused on WordCamps and other larger-scale events. Conversations touched on common challenges like finding speakers and sponsors, engaging new audiences, and delivering value to everyone.
We also discussed Campus Connect, a new initiative designed to reach future community members where they are, on campus, and how this could help unlock growth in new regions.
