About WordPress Campus Connect
WordPress Campus Connect is a global education initiative led by the WordPress Community Team that brings together students, educators, and open-source contributors. Its goal is to help students explore WordPress, understand open-source contributions, and discover digital career opportunities through practical, hands-on workshops held at educational institutions. The coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. value of WPCC is not only meeting students on campus, but also creating a formal, ongoing bond between the institution and the WordPress community.
Goals of Campus Connect
- Empowering students across the globe to learn, build, and contribute through WordPress.
- Build local WordPress communities within educational institutions.
- Create career awareness and contribution pathways for students.
How It Started
Campus Connect began as a local outreach initiative to introduce WordPress to students in Ajmer, India, in October 2024. Its success led to expansion across multiple countries and official recognition as a global WordPress.org program in May 2025.
Impact So Far
Hundreds of students across 4 regions have participated in WordPress Campus Connect events to date, building their first WordPress sites and forming local WordPress Student Clubs.
