Event formats & standards

Campus Connect events are flexible to be hosted in various formats, depending on community capacity and institutional partnerships.

Event Formats

  • Introductory Seminar & Workshop (Half-Day or One-Day) – basic overview and hands-on learning.
  • Extended Program (Multi-Campus or Multi-Week) – a series of sessions across campuses (e.g., the Ajmer model).
  • Centralized Program – Host a centralized event at a larger campus that can support the required infrastructure and logistics. Partner with the other campuses, list them on the event website, and acknowledge their involvement. You can also allocate a set number of seats to each campus by collaborating with them and reserving a fixed quota for their students.
  • Duration: One-day, two-day, or multi-week events.
  • Delivery: In-person.
  • Session Types: Workshop, seminar, or contribution sprint.
  • Pricing: Always free for attendees.

Target Audience

Students enrolled in educational institutions who are interested in web development, design, or related fields. Faculty collaborators are encouraged to participate and support.

Event Naming

  • If the event is a city-wide initiative hosted at multiple colleges or universities, it should be named WordPress Campus Connect [City].
    • For example, WordPress Campus Connect Kolhapur — for events hosted in multiple colleges across Kolhapur.
URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org format: https://events.wordpress.org/campusconnect/2025/kolhapur/
  • If the event is hosted by a single college or university, it should be named WordPress Campus Connect [Institution][City].
    • For example:
      • WordPress Campus Connect Sophia College Ajmer — for the Ajmer campus.
        URL format: https://events.wordpress.org/campusconnect/2025/ajmer-sophiacollege/
      • WordPress Campus Connect Adamson University Manila
        URL format: https://events.wordpress.org/campusconnect/2025/manila-adamsonuniversity

Exception: When the city is part of the university’s official name, it can be named WordPress Campus Connect [Institution].

For example, WordPress Campus Connect University of Pisa.
URL format: https://events.wordpress.org/campusconnect/2025/university-of-pisa/

If a single-institution event later grows to include multiple colleges across the same city, update the name to the city-wide format (e.g., change to WordPress Campus Connect [City] and use the corresponding city URL).

These rules are intended to provide consistent naming guidelines. If an application presents an unusual scenario, the application reviewer will work with the organizer during application processing to confirm the most appropriate event name and URL.
