When someone becomes a community team event or program supporter, they’re first asked to sign an agreement to make sure they understand the responsibilities that come with the role. Below is the text of that agreement.

Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. project and guide community members in acting according to the project philosophies and program guidelines.
As a Community Team Contributor, you agree to:
Perform the duties of a Contributor for the good of the WordPress community, not for the benefit of any one person or business.
Follow through on commitments made to the Community Team, or in the event that you are unable to fulfill this commitment, let another Contributor know so that someone else can take over your responsibilities.
Be respectful of all community members, and use language in your communications that shows this respect.
Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere on the Community Team and in the WordPress project by not allowing discrimination or harassment to go unchallenged.
Respect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or personally identifiable information.
Respect and act in accordance with the WordPress trademark policy.
Respect the WordPress license (GPLv2orlater) and refrain from activities in conflictwith the license terms, or promotion of other people/businesses in conflict with the license terms.
