Event Supporter Processing

The applications, processing, and orientations are nearly identical. However, there are enough small difference to the information and tools each need to make it simpler to have two separate sets of information for Event Supporters and Program Supporters.

Overview of the Steps

  1. Add new applications that come into HelpScout to the Supporter Processing spreadsheet.
  2. Review the application.
  3. If the application is approved, ask the applicant to complete the online training.
  4. Hold a group orientation for each role when possible using the Event SupporterEvent Supporter Event Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues.   5. Send the New Contributor agreement in DropBox (formerly HelloSign) Sign for the supporter(s) to sign.
  6. Add them to the Current Supporter and Manager spreadsheet and Community Team Supporters and Managers page.
  7. Provide access to tools.
  8. Follow up on the 1-2 MeetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. applications you gave them to review.
