Please join the WordPress Community Team as a Supporter of Cohort 2024-25

We are thrilled to announce a new opportunity to join the WordPress Community Team as a Supporter. As part of our ongoing efforts to grow and nurture the WordPress community, we’re onboarding new volunteers to help foster community engagement.

What Does It Mean to Be a Community Supporter?

As a Community Team Supporter, you’ll play a vital role in helping us maintain a thriving, welcoming, and supportive environment. Some of the main tasks you will help the community team with are 

  • Mentoring WordCamps and WordPress Events
  • Vetting MeetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month).   • Managing community support channels

What to Expect:

  • Commitment & Engagement: We ask for a clear commitment to your role, including time and active participation, to ensure our community continues to grow and flourish. This activity will also qualify under the 5ftF pledge program.
  • Clear Roles & Responsibilities: We’ll provide you with well-defined role descriptions so you can contribute effectively from the start. Expect hands-on projects, workshops, and group discussions to deepen your involvement.
  • Interactive Learning: Our onboarding process is designed to be engaging! Through quizzes, scenario-based learning, and group discussions, you’ll develop the skills and confidence needed for your role.
  • Peer Support & Accountability: You’ll be assigned a buddy from your cohort to encourage mutual accountability and foster strong relationships. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to mentorEvent Supporter Event Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues. future cohorts.

Submit your application today! For those who have applied as Community Team Supporters: We have been working to onboard new Community Support members, but some applications have stalled. We apologize for the delay. If you’re reading this announcement and are still interested in joining the team, please reapply.

The application form will remain open till 24th October 2024, and we plan to have group orientation starting in early November 2024.

  • Supporters will be able to lead the Community Table at flagship events.
  • Exclusive webinars with WordPress leaders. 
  • Community Badge on WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users.   • We’ll also recognize achievements through public shoutouts and celebrations at flagship events.
