Hello Event Organizers and Community members!
I am excited to announce that the marketing and advertising guidelines have been updated in the WordCamp/WordPress Events handbook! If you are organizing a WordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more., KidsCamp/YouthCamp, or any other innovative WordPress event, you now have the opportunity to allocate a portion of your budget for marketing and advertising.
The goal is to help event organizers reach wider audiences, especially first-time attendees while ensuring efficient use of resources. For full details on how to use these funds, including important information about the WordPress/WordCamp trademark, please review the newly added Advertising/Marketing Expense Guidelines.
Please note that the final amount for marketing and advertising will be approved by a Program Manager Program Managers (formerly Super Deputies) are Program Supporters who can perform extra tasks on WordCamp.org like creating new sites and publishing WordCamps to the schedule. during your budget review. If your event is upcoming but your budget review has already taken place, you can still request to add marketing/advertising expenses. Simply send an email to support@wordcamp.org with your proposed amount for consideration and a Program Manager will follow up with you via email.
