Here is where we have policy debates, project announcements, and assist community members in organizing events.

Everyone is welcome to comment on posts and participate in the discussions regardless of skill level or experience.

The nomination for WordPress Community Team RepTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts. has been closed on 13th November 2023.

We got some great names nominated to be the next Community Team Reps. Once nominations closed, we contacted all nominees and listed those who responded positively.

Nominees

A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, makes sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts.

The following new community team Reps are nominated for 2024.

Voting

Community team members are requested to vote to select 2 new community team reps by online poll using the following link: https://forms.gle/h43XbR4JtqEuHfbb6

The voting is open until 15th December 2023.

Results

Once voting is concluded, we will announce the results before the end of 2023.

How Team Reps will be Structured in 2024

To recap: in the post receiving this candidate, we had made a suggestion as to the duration and number of community Reps. Based on the input there, we are planning to operate with 4 people next year with 2 remaining from the 2023 Reps and 2 new Reps.

This is with the understanding that it will be okay if someone gets stuck for a period of time.

And the two new reps in 2024 will overlap into 2025 if possible.

This can be reconsidered after a year of activity.

The two Team Reps who will remain from 2023 and be active in 2024 will be decided by discussion among the current three Reps ( @mysweetcate , @nukaga , @leogopal ) . The reason it is not a vote is that who remains will be determined based on an internal discussion of activity, history, and personal circumstances.

Hello! Thank you so much for the nomination, I feel honored. I joined the community team in 2022 and after almost 2 years, I feel I have gained enough confidence and knowledge to be able to support the team. I love how in 2023 the current reps have guided us, and I’d be happy to continue with the process they have started. All the other fellow candidates are spectacular community team members, so no matter how the vote ends, next year is going to be another great year for the community team! Good luck everyone!

Hello and thank you! Such a great honor and very excited about this!

Although I had been in the community for a long time, I’ve been contributing/being part of the community team since around 2021 or 2022. We all faced difficulties during the pandemic and 2023 was the year that community united in-person once again. Would love to see the engagement more and more, and love to help out in a way I can contribute.

With the introduction of Next Gen Events, we see a lot of opportunities open up. And would love to help those “dreams” within the community come true. And more importantly, keep the welcoming, heartwarming atmosphere that past reps have created and keep it going.

All the other candidates are amazing!
No matter the outcome is, I see bright future coming ahead for the team. Thank you all, not just the candidates, but everyone who contributes in the community team.

  Hello everyone, it is indeed a great honor to have my name next to three people who are so special and important to the WordPress community. I have been active in the community for a while now, with various roles as an organizer of MeetupsMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. and WordCamps both locally, in Italy, and across Europe. Currently, I am involved in organizing, reviewing and mentoring some of the NextGen Events that are and will be the real bet for the next few years for WordPress and its community. I hope that my help and work can be useful in making the NextGen Events, and in general all events organized by the community, succeed in the best possible way. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. I appreciate the great work in which the current representatives have led us into 2023 and would be happy to continue the process they have started even though I admit it will be. I admit that all the other nominees are spectacular members of the community team, so I am already honored to be nominated with them!

I believe that all of the above names will represent the community team better. But, we’ve our own set of rules to have 2 team reps only.
