MentorsEvent SupporterEvent Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues., DeputiesProgram SupporterCommunity Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. The WordPress Community Team is a group of dedicated individuals who work to foster a strong sense of community within the WordPress ecosystem. The team is made up of several roles, including Organisers, Mentors, Deputies, and Super DeputiesProgram ManagerProgram Managers (formerly Super Deputies) are Program Supporters who can perform extra tasks on WordCamp.org like creating new sites and publishing WordCamps to the schedule.. Each role serves a specific purpose and plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth functioning of the community.
The Organisers are responsible for planning and executing community events, such as meetupsMeetupMeetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Mentors, on the other hand, are seasoned community members who help WordCampWordCampWordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Deputies are community members who have been appointed by the team leads to help manage the community. They play a crucial role in supporting the Organisers and Mentors and keeping everything running smoothly.
The Super DeputyProgram ManagerProgram Managers (formerly Super Deputies) are Program Supporters who can perform extra tasks on WordCamp.org like creating new sites and publishing WordCamps to the schedule. role is reserved for those who have shown exceptional dedication and leadership within the community.
Recently, there was a proposal to streamline the roles within the WordPress Community Team. The goal is to simplify the roles, eliminate any redundancy, and make it easier for new members to understand the various roles and responsibilities. This proposal is still under consideration, and the team is actively seeking feedback from the community.
To further discuss the roles and responsibilities of the Community Team, a session has been planned. This session aims to provide an opportunity for the team members to explain their roles, answer any questions the community may have, and gather feedback from the attendees. Through this session, the team hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the community’s needs and how they can better serve them.
