March 1 workshop: great attendance and energy. At least 2 have already applied to speak at WordCamps
March 16 workshop: Organizing Diverse & Inclusive WordPress Events AMER/EMEA. @jillbinder asked for help with spreading the word about the event to WP Meetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. and WordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. organizers.

@santanainniss shared that the March 1 social media clicks were the second highest ever.
We have posts scheduled for March 9, 10, 15 for our March 16 Organizer workshop. Santana will circle back with those links for us to share.
6 – WPDiversity APAC (@onealtr)
@onealtr shared about the successes of WC Asia overall, and the diversity items:
- The speaker selection was 80% from and Asian country and 20% from elsewhere in the world
- There was a 60/40% male/female and non-binary selection among the speakers
- They had food available for different cultures, religions, and medical reasons
- @onealtr, @alliennimmons, and @bobwp moderated a #WPDiversity discussion during Contributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https://make.wordpress.org/ There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/getting-started/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day/. There were about 20 attendees from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, The Philippines and Malaysia.
7 – Diversity in Spain project (@martatorre)
@martatorre is helping the WordPress Barcelona team to make a diversity table on Contributor day. She is requesting ideas for what to do at the WPDiversity table.
8 – Updates: “Wins” project, Translation tool, upcoming workshops schedule, daylight savings time change (@jillbinder)
Updates from Jill:
- We have a new form to collect “speaking wins” from the diverse-speaker-support channel
- We will have an accountability game with the form in April
- We are working on testing a translation add-on on the WordPress Slack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/, especially for use in diverse-speaker-support
- We have WPDiversity workshops through to June 2023 listed on our Upcoming Events on our handbook page
- Daylight Savings time happens this weekend. Our next meeting will be at 5pm UTC instead of 6pm UTC
