Plan Your State of the Word Watch Party Today!

State of the Word 2022 is just around the corner and it’s the perfect opportunity to organize a watch party for your community. 

Join others from around the world as co-founder, Matt Mullenweg, presents this year’s WordPress keynote address from New York City on December 15, 2022, 1–2:30 P.M. EST (18–19:30 UTC), and like last year, it will be live streamed.

Organizing a Watch Party

You can choose to host the watch party online or in person. Regardless of which you chose, we have created event templates in Meetup.com that will help this event stand out from others you’ve planned this year.

Is State of the Word streaming live at an odd hour in your timezone? Organize a party to watch the replay at a date/time that is convenient for your group.

Have a question you want to ask directly to Matt? You can participate in the Question & Answer following the keynote either by emailing your question ahead of time to ask-matt@wordcamp.org or ask during the event in the live stream chat on the WordPress YouTube channel.

In Person State of the Word Watch Party

All you need is a venue that has a large TV screen (that can stream YouTube) or a projector with a decent audio system. That’s it! 

From there you all can relax, enjoy catching up with one another, and watch State of the Word from wherever you happen to be in the world. Learn more about organizing an in person State of the Word watch party.

If you need to schedule an online watch party for your WordPress Meetup group, simply follow these instructions and add the State of the Word YouTube streaming link (you’ll find it on this post) directly on your Meetup.com page. Learn more about organizing an online State of the Word watch party.
