Community Team Training

We are planning to run a Zoom call every month for the Deputy Training and a mini-sprint to work on any tasks that deputiesProgram Supporter Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. The idea is to provide continuous training to deputies and to work together on the issues that require collaboration and discussion. 

The Zoom call will be an hour-long, and we will provide training on a variety of topics that deputies need to know. We will also work on any tasks that require collaboration and discussion. This will be a great opportunity for deputies to get the training they need and to work together on issues that are important to the department.

Objective

The objective of this training and sprints is to provide continuous training to community deputiesProgram Supporter Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. Find more about program supporters in our Program Supporter Handbook. and to work together on the issues that require collaboration and discussions. This will involve meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. and local chapter organizers in selected sessions for training and coaching. The goal is to provide deputies with the skills and knowledge they need to be effective leaders in their communities and to help meetup and local chapter organizers learn how to work together to resolve issues.

Format & Time

This will be a Zoom video call. The community team currently meets every first Thursday of the month. We plan to conduct this training on the third Thursday of the month at the same time as our monthly meeting.

The Zoom link for the meeting will be posted on the Community team channel on SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/.. 

First session

The first session will take place on 23rd June 2022  2022/06/23 12:00 UTC. In this session, @angelasjin will join us to discuss the topic “All About Community Deputies”. The Zoom meeting link will be shared on the event day.  For a start, we will run these sessions in either APAC/EMEA OR Americas timezone.
