Sunday, April 24: How to Own Your Expertise & Start Speaking at Nigeria WordPress Meetups, Sun, Apr 24, 2022, 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM Nigeria time (11:30 AM – 1 PM Eastern / 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM Pacific)

Upcoming in May 2022: We are working with WCUSWCUS WordCamp US. The US flagship WordCamp event. organizers to arrange for a Cohort 3 “Allyship for WP Event Organizers” workshop that is at a time when all of the WCUS organizers can attend. After finding a time that works, we will open it up to all WP organizers and contributors, just as always.

Once we have that workshop in place, we will figure out when and for who our next speaker workshop will be.

@onealtr: We are looking for volunteers to assist at the workshop.

5. Diverse Speaker Support channel

@jillbinder: Chatting with our potential Speaker MentorEvent Supporter Event Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues. Coordinator is delayed.

@juliarosia: We are working to kick-off more active engagement in the channel! Check out today’s announcement.

6. Marketing: The Marketing team has been doing great with getting our messages out about the diversity proposal post and our upcoming events.

7. Translations: @jillbinder: Speaker workshops: Portuguese is nearly complete. French and Italian are in progress. Allyship workshop: We are in discussion about how to translate the Allyship workshop to Italian.

8. DEI plans for WordPress events: @juliarosia: Here is the proposal. I posted a closing comment on Monday, and now am looking toward next steps for implementation.

9. APAC: @onealtr: We are posting an announcement on the community blog next week about holding a new #WPDiversity meeting for APAC-friendly timezones. This will be a place to discuss things that are directly involving those in the APAC region. We will have a poll to find the most convenient time.

10. WCEUWCEU WordCamp Europe. The European flagship WordCamp event.: @juliarosia: We will be offering a WCEU Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time.
