Community Team has had Deputy Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. Find more about program supporters in our Program Supporter Handbook. Training courses for years. In 2019 there was an effort on improving the training and creating new courses. As a result of those efforts, the training material was also moved from its own domain under the WordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ with a new name “WordPress Contributor Training”.
These courses are great and I strongly feel everyone involved somehow on wider WordPress project and contributing to some Make team should take the general courses. Half of the courses are general and the other half are more Community Team specific. Take a look at the “How Decisions are Made in the WordPress Project” and “Basic Principles of Conflict Resolution” courses for example, what a great content!
In order to get more WordPress project contributors to take the courses and other teams to create their own courses on the platform, we’d need to make the platform better known.
What would be a better way to achieve that, than giving recognition to those who have completed the courses!
That could be done in a few ways:
- Adding a profile activity note when some course is completed.
- Listing the completed courses below “Contribution History” section.
Please share your thoughts and ideas before 2020-12-18 🙂
