Reports
How did you do on your goals from January? What are you working on now? What are you working on? How is it going? Do you have any obstacles? With colour:
- Green: On plan. No help needed.
- Yellow: Not on plan but I have a strategy to get there
- Red: Not on plan, no plan to get there, I’m lost!
@miriamgoldman
I’m green. Making sure trainings are scheduled, running one tonight (if the trainee shows). Onboarding new trainers is on hold until demand picks up.
I plan to continue to schedule trainings and hold them as necessary
@bhargavmehta
I am behind sharing the details of translation to everyone for beta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. release.
@cguntur
I am mostly green on reaching out to the meetups Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook.. Some of them are running it this month. So will reach out end of Feb.
I reached out to Chris Lema again about the speaker mentor Event Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues. program. Haven’t heard back from him yet.
@jillbinder
Yellow: I’m a bit lost on the 2019 stats collecting, but I have a plan to get there.
Green: I’m recording our new Train the Trainers videos this week! Yeah!
Yellow: I’m behind on getting info to @rahuldsarker and @bhargavmehta so they can be starting the translations.
Aurooba, Ronald Gijsel and I had a chat today about the workshop and he offered to contact meetups in the UK to tell them about our workshop! Can you talk him through how we’re doing that?
Speaking of which, how is it going with @rahuldsarker on this for his area?
I plan to:
Have the Train the Trainers videos done.
Have the 2019 report done (hopefully much sooner than that!)
Have gotten Bhargav and Rahul the latest version of the workshop
Have reviewed and edited the official training that @incredimike is posting on github GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ for us
Be working on the new questionnaires
Be working on the new spreadsheet format (which I’ll talk about in the next section)
How our 2019 Year End report stats collection is going
We talked about where our numbers are at currently, how we plan to finish them, new info that has come up (groups who are impacted by our work without running the workshop!), and @angelasjin‘s new project of helping us come up with better systems for future tracking.
Numbers in progress:
How many WordPress meetups and WordCamps ran the Diverse Speaker Workshop in 2019? In which cities, countries? 11 or 14? counted so far. There are probably more. This one needs work. Coming back to it.
How many Train The Trainers sessions did our team run? 10
How many participants in total took a Diverse Speaker Workshop in 2019? It’s harder to collect this one. We’ll come back to it.
How many people did our Train the Trainers train? 24!
How many wrote in to us about our training through Helpscout? How many of those requested receiving a training? Right now I believe it’s 23 wrote and 19 requested training.
Great stuff, considering that I put a hold on this project from about February – start of May
