Several people had requested this change so that more organizers and volunteers for a WordCamp could be involved in financial discussions without having to give everyone admin accounts.

Before, all of the budget tools were limited to users with the Administrator role on a WordCamp site. Now, the Author and Editor roles will also have access, though with some restrictions. They can:

  • View the preliminary and working budgets, but not save changes or submit for review.
  • Create sponsor invoices, reimbursement requests, and vendor payment requests, but not view/change items of these types that were created by other users.

No changes were made to the Administator level of access.
