in the mid $60s without lunch provided. Brought down to $54.15 per person per

and WordCamp but there doesn’t seem to be any interest or follow through from
the community. They have the same request repeatedly for a 101 meetup event
and I think not providing it is stunting the influx of new members getting
more deeply involved. She offered that they considered doing the first day
of the WordCamp next year as a 101 workshop (with another workshop running
at the same time). Great idea. Great way to bring in new folks. I suggested

their issues. experience last year. Needs a solid active mentor this year.
Looking for a new venue because their old venue won’t let them reserve the
venue until the semester in which the event happens. Pushing it to late May
        or early August.
      * WordCamp Portland – ticket sales are going well, call for speakers closes on
Aug 1, they’re working on design stuff (swag, badges, etc), they took a poll
on volunteer uniform and decided on t-shirts. Getting team consensus from polls
instead of discussions has been great for them. They’re doing well with sponsors
      * WCUS weekly call — The big ticket sales meeting. Normal check in followed by
        ticket sales promotion idea fest
      * quick chat with WC Providence/ RI organizer about their car dealer sponsor
wanting to give test drives on breaks and at lunch. Talked about insurance
        issues.
      * WordCamp Jacksonville 2018 budget review — starting out at $47.30 per person
per day. Removed marketing cost. Reduced volunteer identifier cost. reduced
number of financial scholarships. Adjusted the way kid camp tickets are sold
and provided free companion tickets for kid camp adult +1. Cost is at $46.45
per person per day. Approved with a total of $19,511 in expenses. Global grant
of $5000 (just under 50%). Next steps – awaiting confirmation from venue (there
will not be a formal contract) and for organizer to complete required fields
        on Central page.
      * reached out to WCDFW to request that they send the venue confirmation ASAP
since they’ve already announced dates and location but are not yet scheduled.

vetted WordCamp Jeddah application — declined — no local meetup group,
wants to make money from event, wants to raise profile. Encouraged applicant to
start a meetup group within the expectations of the project and apply again when
that meetup is active. vetted WordCamp St. Louis application – accepted and requested
an orientation. Second consecutive year organizer, is aware of term limit. WordCamp
Philly — mentor call around some speaker concerns, sponsorship is going well,
announced first two rounds of speakers, tickets sales are off to a slow start
but will start a social media push this weekend. vetted WordCamp Riga, Latvia
application — wants to hold WordCamp Riga in less than 3 months. That’s a very
short turn around. Approved for orientation/ application.
 10. * WCUS – t-shirt discussion, signed letter of confirmation for after party caterer,
signed sponsor agreements for Nestify and Give WP
      * Sent WordCamp Jacksonville 2017 survey results
      * verified WordCamp DFW’s venue confirmation and moved to scheduled.
      * vetted WordCamp Madrid 2018 application — approved for orientation, encourage
him to get some diversity on the organizing team.
      * vetted WordCamp Zaragoza 2018 – approved for orientation, encourage him to
get some diversity on the organizing team.
      * vetted WordCamp Antwerp application – approved for orientation. 2nd consecutive
year organizer. Encourage him to work with the organizers who may pick up in
        2019
      * vetted WordCamp Greenville — declined — there’s already a WordCamp in planning.
Suggesting the applicant get more involved with the meetup group planning the
        event
