I got some great feedback today from a tester. There were a few basic edits, but there were some general things to consider as well:
- The summary states that the aim is to train on the reasoning behind what deputiesProgram Supporter Community Program Supporters (formerly Deputies) are a team of people worldwide who review WordCamp and Meetup applications, interview lead organizers, and keep things moving at WordCamp Central. Find more about program supporters in our Program Supporter Handbook. do, but there is no information about how to get trained on the how of what we do. My personal recommendation would be to make new modules for training the tasks.
- Related, once the training is complete, it’s not clear what the next steps are. Regardless of how we train people how to do the tasks, we should make that clear at the end.
- There is some non-jargon terminology that won’t translate well (e.g. “talk at cross-purposes”)
- Could be useful to clarify in the modules the difference between the two community channels in SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/..
- Contacting superdeputies is mentioned, but it’s not clear who those people are or where/how to contact them.
- There are a few places that ask for additional comments, but commenting isn’t enabled.
